Material, technology: oil, canvas Size: 97 x 113 cm Description: There is a very similar composition with nearly the same characters - an old woman by the stove and a maid-servant rolling out pastry on the table - in the collection of Austria’s St Florian abbey. The interior architecture, furnishing, shelves, utensils are also identically arranged. The picture is marked M.Dichtl f.a. 1678 and is tightly bound to Dichtl’s copper etching of the same theme. The latter must have been the model for the painting in Hungary, perhaps already in the 18th century. |  |
