Description: Confraternities between the Benedictine abbeys developed during the Carolingian period. The practice had been common at Pannonhalma for some time, and at the end of the 17th century was once again revived. Certificates given to those received into the monastic community were made in Vienna. At the top stands Our Lady of Hungary flanked by Sts. Adalbert, Benedict, Scholastica, and Stephen.
