Fragment of a Corinthian capital

Description: Approximately one-third of the capital has survived. The lower and upper layers are intact. Two rows of overlapping acanthus leaves (foliae) adorn the calathus. The abacus consists of four curved sides bisected with acanthus flowers (flos). The acanthus leaves under the corners of the abacus and the vine (helix) attached to them wind into a spiral shape.
