Created: ca 1220 Material, technology: limestone Size: 25.5 x 47 x 36.5 cm Description: A chalice-shaped console topped with a polygonal abacus protrudes from the centre-right of this horizontal ashlar, extending the entire height of the stone. The regular curve of the outer side of the stone suggests there was a semi-circular wall there. One possible reconstruction includes a narrow, or tapering tower richly articulated with sculptural ornamentation, and destroyed without leaving a trace. It may have been identical to the tower which stood on a block base at the western corner of the church. The remains of this tower, torn down before 1767, were found in 1995. |
