Created: ca 1803 Material, technology: paper, ink Size: 46.3 x 65.9 cm Description: The three drawings on the same piece of paper show different variations for the design of the altar. Various elements are marked with large or small letters suggesting that a detailed explanation was also included. Andrea Adami prepared the plans for the church of the archabbey of Pannonhalma. The form of the two figures, the Virgin Mary and John the Baptist, indicate that the plan was probably for the altar of the Holy Cross, erected in place of the baroque altar of St Michael in the crypt, consistently referred to as the catacomb. | |
