Final plan of the altar of St Benedict

Created: ca 1804

Material, technology: paper, coloured ink

Size: 53.1 x 34 cm

Description: In 1805 the archabbey’s Diarium gives an account of the consecration of the St Benedict altar. During Storno’s rebuilding the altar found its way to the parish church of Nyalka, where it is now the main altar. The original altarpiece has been replaced with an oil painting by C. Gutch. The work, which depicts the birth of Jesus, was painted when the altar was moved.
