Created: 1723 Material, technology: cast, engraved silver with iron handle Size: diam.: 61 mm Description: The Ottoman wars put an end to the role of the abbey of Pannonhalma from the 1250s as a place of authentication. Upon Benedek Sajghó’s urging, the Diet ruled in 1723 that the abbey should have a new seal made modelled after the old one and the archabbot should appoint officials to serve in the authentication office.
