Created: First half of the 14th century Description: The provenance of this codex containing the entire Latin text of the books of the Bible is unknown. It came into the possession of the Pannonhalma library in the 19th century. Marginal interpolations suggest it was used in a monastery earlier. Blue and red paint was used to paint the decorative initials. The initial I of the Book of Genesis stands out in particular, covering almost the entire length of the column. |
