Created: Vienna, 1701

Material, technology: engraved steel, one side in a cast lead frame

Size: diam. (with lead frame): 9.6 cm, (without lead frame): 6.5 cm

Description: On one side of the medal there are three hills. At the top of the centre hill is a patriarchal cross rising from a crown. Above is the radiating eye of God and two prelates: on the right St Martin and on the left Abbot Astrik. On the other side there are three hills crowned by groups of buildings: on the right the monastery; in the centre the Calvary, and on the left an open chapel. Above the hills in the clouds is the Patrona Hungariae with St Stephen offering a crown on her right and St Ladislas on her left. The medal was commissioned by the archabbot Egyed Karner in 1701 in honour of the jubilee of the founding of the abbey.
