Description: The staff is decorated with engraved and chased foliage, with a vase-shaped knop, adorned with the heads of cherubs. A statue of the Madonna encircled by a halo of rays stands at the end of the curved, voluted crook. Originally set rubies, amethyst and emeralds adorned the crosier, but during restoration they were replaced with small gilt knobs.
