Created: 1723 Material, technology: silver gilt Size: h.: 20 cm Description: The rounded, convex, six-lobed base is decorated with repoussé work and reticulated rhombuses along the perimeter. On the base there are three, winged cherub’s heads decorated with leaves and flowers. The stem is cylindrical and there are three cartouches on the pear-shaped node. The repoussé medallions on the reticulated basket depict the instruments of Christ’s Passion: Veronica’s veil, Christ’s clothing, and a whip and a stick. On the perimeter of the base an engraved donation inscription from 1723 reads: Archi Coenoby S. Martini 0723. | |
