Description: Trained in the workshops of H. Makart and H. Canon, Koppay was a sought-after portraitist in Vienna and Munich at the end of the 19th c. Lónyay turns left in the almost full-length portrait, wearing Hungarian gala costume, fur-lined jacket and hat with feather. He has brown moustache. Elemér Lónyai (1863-1944) was secret councillor and chamberlain. In 1896 he received the title of count, in 1917 he was raised to the rank of prince.
