Material, technology: oil, canvas Size: 40 x 22 cm Description: The picture is connected to a Maulbertsch painting (J.G. Haid, c. 1790, Vienna) preserved in a copper etching, but the painting itself is unknown. Though earlier it was attributed to Maulbertsch with its pair, the Visitation (A.24), its poorer quality, clumsy execution, mistaken drawing point at the authorship of István Schaller of Sopron. The authentic works, frescoes, altarpieces of the painter seem to support this attribution. |  |
